So I finally was able to talk to Nick Hamilton on the phone the other day. I was constantly worrying that this whole internship would fall through for some reason, but it seems like it is official.
In August, I plan to move from Michigan to California (Carlsbad/Encinitas area) to work for Transworld Snowboarding Magazine.
It all started way back when I decided to go to High Cascade for the Photo Workshop. Meeting friends and networking at HCSC, I was able to meet some pretty rad people, including Kyle Fischer. Months later, he was able to get me the email for the woman who controlled the media at The Dew Tour. I emailed her and wanted to get into the Dew Tour at Mount Snow, VT to take some photos. Speed bumps here and there happened, and I finally emailed Nick to ask advice on what I should do. He ended up hooking me up and helping me get the pass. After Dew Tour, I sent Nick a thank you and he ended up offering me an internship.
And here we are.
I will be visiting the offices the first week of May and meeting everyone. So since nothing new will be happening until I move out there, this blog is way ahead of schedule. But check back in a few months for updates from the TW offices and one of the “Angry Interns”
